Common questions, answered.

Is the self-hosted version limited?
No. There is no feature flag gating capability, no server limit and no seat limit. Every feature, including the AI Engine with your own provider key, is in the free self-hosted version, and it stays free.
What will be paid?
Two things TalosFleet provides as a service: Talos SaaS, and AI tokens supplied by Talos for teams who would rather not bring their own provider key. Self-hosting, and every feature in it, stays free.
What will Talos SaaS cost?
Pricing will be announced when Talos SaaS launches. It will be priced for the service and AI usage TalosFleet provides, not for features.
Is there a SaaS version?
Talos SaaS is in development. Until it launches, self-hosting is the way to use Talos. Contact us if you would like early access.
What does it actually cost me to run?
One small Linux host. The control plane needs about 4 GB of RAM and stays flat as the fleet grows, because jobs execute on your servers rather than inside Talos. Most people run it on something they already have.
Can I use it commercially, for client work?
Yes. Managing client infrastructure (an agency running Frappe for forty companies, for example) is the case it was built for, and self-hosting it is free.
What support is there for self-hosted installs?
Community support and the documentation, and you can email the team directly. A paid support agreement with an SLA is not offered yet.
